Our Counsellors
All Counsellors have Masters and Doctoral degrees in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family, and Developmental Psychology. All Counsellors are registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Peace Portal's resident psychologist is registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia. The Counselling staff meets regularly with the psychologist and the Director to ensure professional accountability and responsibility.
Peace Portal Counsellors are professional and welcoming in their approach to working with clients. Counsellors are trained to assess presenting issues and to collaborate with you concerning what course of intervention might be in your best interest. Counsellors will make every effort to effectively assist you in addressing your presenting issues throughout the counselling process. If your counsellor believes that another counsellor on staff or in the community will better serve you in light of your situation, an appropriate referral will be made with your knowledge and permission.
