Is January the biblical 1st month of the year?

According to historical evidence, January on the original Gregorian calendar created by Pope Gregory XIII was really the 11th month of the year. And February was the 12th month on that calendar. So, why do we Christians celebrate January 1st as the 1st month of the year aka New Years? Anyone, knows the Bible answer to this question?
