Youth Praying

YOUTH LEADERSHIP

They are where the real ministry happens as they develop relationships with teens in their small groups and also connecting with them one on one. We will meet as leaders a half hour before each Thursday and also have monthly equipping/ training meetings.

WORSHIP

Every other Thursday night, a significant portion of time will be set aside for worship. It is our prayer that our worship services will be an extremely impacting experience for teens to express themselves to God and also realize His presence in their lives. Through music and other creative forms of worship, students are encouraged to passionately respond to God for his forgiveness and grace in our lives. We have some very talented musicians in our youth ministry, so we have created a worship band ministry and are continuing to find more students to get involved in it. We will also begin to explore other types of artistic worship ministry teams.

PROGRAMS:

ZION DEEPER

Thursdays, 7pm – 9:30pm

Students will experience passionate worship and the presence of God, hear challenging and Holy Spirit inspired talks, and grapple with the truths of the Bible in their life groups.

LIFE GROUPS

On Thursdays, we will break up into our smaller groups, led by one or two of our amazing leaders. These groups will give the students a more in depth look into the truth of the Bible, and let students interact with each other as they make that truth real for their own lives. The most important part is the relationships they will build with each other and their Life Group leader. They will have opportunities to encourage and challenge each other as they discover more of God together.

ZION UNLEASHED

Pure FUN! All CRAZY! The best way to get to know somebody is to have fun with them. Every second Friday we will hold events solely for the purpose of relationship building and give students an opportunity to bring some of their unchurched friends out to a non-threatening event. Some Fridays will be age or grade specific, and other will be with the whole group. Stay tuned to the calendar on the website and through email for further details.

STAYING PLUGGED IN

Weekly emails will be sent to students reminding them of upcoming events through email and also through our Facebook group (Zion Youth).

PARENT MINISTRY

Parents have the spiritual authority and responsibility to train their children up in the Lord, and we as a youth ministry submit to that. Our job as youth leaders is to come alongside and to encourage parents as they raise their children in a Godly heritage. Providing a safe environment and safe relationships for their teens to experience the presence of God, is our responsibility. As a leadership team, we have instituted rules to our events that will ensure that parents can rest easy when they drop their children off. Communication is also important to partner with parents. Through email, we will provide a bi-monthly description of our upcoming events and will give as much notice as possible for key dates like retreats. We will also have our door and ear open to parents with questions or concerns. We are exploring various options to provide parents with opportunities to gain instruction or advice on raising teens, or even just a place where parents can share their stories and be encouraged.
